The Community of St Egidio began in 1968 in Rome. It was born during the period following the Second Vatican Council. It is now a movement of lay people. It now counts more than 60,000 members, dedicated to peace, prayer, and service to the poor in about 73 countries throughout the world.
The Community of St Egidio in London has built friendship with the homeless and the elderly in the areas of Kensington, Ladbroke Grove, and Gloucester road. We meet regularly for the service and the prayer, details below - the venue is the Carmelite church in 41 Kensington Church Street, W8 4BB London. Please contact us if you wish to join our service. We are a registered Charity in the UK.
